This place has bakery in the name, but I more often come here for the burritos or other lunch food. This place is a little market, with a meat counter. They sell chicharron, different sausages, dried shrimp, carne asada, and other Mexican meat products. They have a bakery section, a selection of snacks and a little restaurant in the back. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. But the carnitas tacos and burrito really stand out. Their beans are velvety smooth and I assume made with some pork fat. Their carnitas are the best in Mount Vernon, always that perfect mixture of chewy, moist and flavor full. I have never gotten a mouth of flabby gross fat here, never, they really do a good job. They have a selection of sodas mostly Mexican, lots of glass bottles, but nothing diet, bummer for me. They are cash only right now. They also have homemade seasoned peanuts that I always bring home for my husband if I stop in for lunch, a little spicy and delicious. You can also buy tamales there to take home by the dozen. All in all a great stop for lunch, a good place to pick up some ingredients for your own Mexican dinner, or a nice spot to find unusual chips and sodas.

Great little place to get really good Mexican food. In talking with the owner it has been there a long time. I just recently stopped in not even realizing it wasn't just a market. I've been there a few times since and absolutely love everything I've had there. Awesome burritos that are huge. The adobada it out of this world. The tacos are great too. The people that work there are really friendly and it's officially my new favorite place to eat. I even bought one of their industrial strength tortilla presses they sell there! Total gem of a place that Mt Vernon is lucky to have!!
